Bidet is a personal cleansing method utilizing a stream of water, which is more hygienic and beneficial than the use of toilet paper. The word bidet was first used in the 15th century to refer to the pet ponies kept by the French royalty. During the 19th century the Europeans developed a porcelain cleaning device for contraceptive and purgative uses, which was called a bidet for its shape resembled those ponies. Over time, its use has evolved more into a personal cleansing method, paralleling the improved sanitation and the heightened sense of personal hygiene in the modern world.
If it is routine to wash one's hands after using the toilet, is it even not more logical to wash one's bottom ? Babies always have their bottoms washed clean, powdered and pampered. The chief purpose of the bidet is to maintain for the user a constant state of cleanliness after each use of the toilet. The bidet should be considered a hygienic necessity rather than a luxury or status symbol. Daily use of the bidet should become as conventional as brushing one's teeth.
Daily Use:
Avoid most of the conditions below while enjoying the superior cleansing action of water. Often praised for their potty-trained virtues, bidets can be an invaluable aid to the handicapped and infirm, as well.
Therapeutic Use:
Treat female urinary tract infections with daily bidet rinses
Constipation:
The cause of several more serious problems, including fissures, hemorrhoids and infections. Best advice : live right and don't get I in the first place. When you do, don't strain, try a warm water rinse instead. It will sooth the surrounding muscles and membranes and contributes to a more normal bowel movement.
Hemorrhoids:
Do yourself a favor and treat the affected area with regular water rinses
The Runs:
Whether it's diarrhea or dysentery, continual use of toilet paper can only make matters worse. You'll appreciate a soothing rinse and retain important natural lubricants.
The Environment:
Remember how everyone was ridiculing Sheryl Crow when she pledged publicly that one should use only a few sectors of toilet paper to clean oneself afterwards? Well, with the Bidet, this is not ridiculous anymore as it has become very doable. Imagine the amount of toilet paper that we can save.

Fitting:
The most forward point of toilet bowl structure (not opening) to water tank should be 21" or longer in order to use elongated model. If shorter than 21", then use round model which is good for up to 19.5". If shorter than 19.5", sorry, you're out of luck. Click on 'camera' icon below to see exact dimensions (in mm) of bidet.
